Unemployed, but love beaches, snorkeling and taking an occasional video? Have we got a position for you.
Described as the “Best Job in the World,” Australia’s department of tourism has announced it is seeking someone to serve as an island caretaker for Hamilton Island, part of the Whitsunday Islands, while promoting the location on a blog.
The six-month position pays $100,000, in addition to free accommodation in an oceanfront villa and airfare from the new hire’s home country. As for the daily tasks that’ll be required, the lucky employee can stroll the white sand beaches, visit the pools or partake in any other activities — he or she will just need to post photos and videos on a weekly blog to promote tourism.
Applications for the position are open until Feb. 22, and 11 finalists will be flown to the island in May for the final selection process. The dream job officially begins on July 1.

I’ve always wanted to go to Australia, so I went looking. Can’t find this job posting anywhere, although I did find the department of tourism site and info about Hamilton Island. Are you sure this is for real?
