Even those who dedicate their lives to service expect a little compensation.
After 23 years of manual labor in a nunnery in Koufalia, Greece, a nun has demanded over $326,000 in payment from her fellow sisters. According to a justice source, the nun claims she was a full-time laborer at the convent. She was responsible for digging, gardening, building and carrying heavy loads that would have earned a normal employee at least $40 per day.
The unidentified nun is also seeking another $54,349 she donated to the convent during her time spent there.
What caused the feud still isn’t clear, but justice authorities think it may have something to do with the nun’s recent dismissal from the convent — after publicly disagreeing with the mother superior, she was ousted.
