Here’s one more reason to make sure you’ve always got some currency on hand: If you don’t, you could end up in jail.
That’s what happened to a hungry New Zealand man who’d apparently forgotten his wallet at home. Once he reached the front of the line at a service station with two packets of M&Ms and a bag of potato chips, he realized he didn’t have any cash on him.
Something like that could happen to anyone. The fact that this patron had wandered into the station after smoking pot probably didn’t help, either.
The 28-year-old’s munchies must’ve triumphed over common sense, because he offered the station’s clerk marijuana in exchange for the goodies.
As luck would have it, there was a police officer behind him in line. In his hunger “purple haze,” the man didn’t notice the police patrol car sitting outside the store.
Here’s hoping the person who showed up to bail out the man remembered a wallet.
