Ever wonder how much all that talk about March Madness, the Superbowl or who’s bringing home Olympic gold really costs your company? We have your answer.
$1.1 million — that’s how much a soccer game cost one Bosnian post office. The facility had several guards on duty, but they were so enthralled with the Spain vs. Germany Euro 2008 soccer final on TV that they didn’t notice the ten robbers who’d entered the building. The guards were easily surprised and beaten up by the men, who then made off with hundred of thousands in Euros.
In the post office workers’ defense, the robbers were wearing police uniforms as a disguise, so they may have let their guard down a little too easy.
In case you’re wondering, Spain took home the title. Here’s hoping the guards at least put some money on the match — they’ve got a lot to pay back.
