After he was unable to successfully pull off a heist, this thief went for the next best thing: a scathing complaint to the business’ manager.
When Joseph Goetz went into his local Susquehanna Bank branch office, he demanded money from the three tellers who were opening up for the morning. Because Goetz had entered the bank just after 9 a.m., the bank workers were waiting for money to come out of the vault before they could begin processing deposits.
The first teller he demanded money from screamed and fainted. The second told him she didn’t have any money, and the third even showed Goetz his empty drawer. Goetz became irritated and said he planned on filing a complaint with the bank’s manager.
He stormed out of the bank empty-handed, but a customer at the branch’s drive-through window had noticed the odd behavior going on inside while he waited, so he called local police and tailed Goetz.
The would-be theif was arrested less than a mile from the branch, on a charge of criminal attempt to commit robbery.
