If you can only afford to splurge on one business-related training seminar this year, make sure it’s for evasive-driving school.

According to Anthony Ricci, president and chief instructor of Advanced Driving and Security, Inc., nothing’s more important in a recession than learning how to handle yourself behind the wheel.

Because crime rates go up in bad economic times, Ricci claims many companies and executives feel vulnerable to attack. Plus, as people are let go from their jobs and retirement savings go down the drain, corporate titans are worried that customers — and especially former workers — might try to do them physical harm.

During ADS’s training course, executives can learn how to master high-stakes skills in dire situations. The company also offers practice scenarios to help navigate through carjackings, high-speed pursuits and crime-ridden city streets.

It is not true that crime goes up during tough economic times. Someone has been reading too much 18th century pop culture.

A FOOL AND HIS (OR HER) MONEY ARE SOON PARTED.

If you feel your position or emploer’s infamy puts you at risk there are some things you may want to consider. Some type of personal security/driver training is one of those things that should be at the top of your list.

However, I would STRONGLY caution against taking training provided by someone, LIKE MR. RICCI, who has no professional security experience whatsoever, misrepresents the experience and capability of his company and has disingenuosly traded off other peoples names and accomplishments for years.

If you feel you need professional training due to your employemnt circumstances, do yourself a favor and search teh web for those companies out there that provide training baed on first hand experience protecting people’s lives and actually have a reputation for quality and results – the polar oppisite of Mr. Ricci and his “school”.
