Bad: An employee’s fired for looking at inappropriate Web sites while at work. Worse: The employee’s a minister for the local parish.
A church minister from Strangnas, Sweden, recently resigned from his post after he was caught looking at pornographic Web sites on a church computer. His daily habit went unnoticed for several years, but after a virus from one of the sites knocked out the church’s entire network, the minister was quick to admit guilt.
A legal spokesperson said church authorities accepted the minister’s resignation, but they haven’t decided whether or not to formally defrock him.
“Priests are people, too,” said the spokesperson. “But I have no understanding at all for someone sitting and surfing for porn on the parish computers.”
